Explore materials: Skirt 1

Skirt 1
How well did it work as a garment?
- i feel it worked quite well as it was just a basic skirt block that i used but added 5cm onto each of the sides to give it a bit more flare.
Is it fashion? if so why?, if not why not?
- I think it could be fashion as again it is just a basic skirt made from linen.
What opening did you use?
- i used a side opening rather than the original back, and also used a zip to be able to get in and out of the skirt.
What were the problems?
- i think one of the problems was that the fabic creased so easily, also when cutting the fabric frayed alot, but i left this to give it more of an effect rather than neatening the edges.
What could you do to improve next time?
- maybe next time if i was going to use this fabric again i would make sure when cutting into the fabric make sure it is firmly attached to the surface so it wouldnt move, and maybe use another method of getting into the skirt instead of a zip as it was quite hard to put in.
