Explore materials: Trouser 1

 Trouser 1
How well did it work as a garment?
- i feel it worked quite well, i used just the basic womens trouser block and added the extra long zip down the side. it was wearable which is the main priority.
Is is fashion? if so why? if not why not?
- i would say it is fashion, i wouldnt wear them myself, i think if they were made in a different fabric they would look completely different could look alot better aswell.
What opening did you use?
- i used a zip, i chose to put quite a long zip in to see what the outcome would look like i put it down the side of the trousers as i thought it would be easier to put them on and off. i had a bit of trouble putting the zip in as i didnt change the foot on my machine which made it alot harder than it could have gone.
What were the problems?
- well i wanted to make in whole beggining a loose pair of trousers but due to the nature of the fabric they didnt fall how i wanted them to so i then cut them to fit a shape. instead of drawing the pattern out on the inside i started to draw it out on the main side of the fabric and before i realised i had already drawn on 3 parts so i just carried on.
What could you do to improve next time?
- well firstly notice what side im drawing the pattern on, maybe buying a smaller zip. i feel for my first time at making trousers it didnt go too badly and made a few begginer mistakes which i can now learn from!
