I startyed by draping on the stand, i pleated the fabric then sewed it into place i really loved the way it just fell and draped really lovely.
I then double the pleats over so they were thicker and sewed inside the garment so it made it puff out a little bit more all around the top of the garment.
i then started to pin in the zip to the back of the garment. after sewing in the zip and seeing how well it fitted, i pinned together the back of the garment in a long straight line and then sewed it together.
I then got rid of the rough frayed edges of the top of the garment and tryed to cover the zip. i hemed the top of garment to make it alot neater..
Once i had put the garment together i then chose how long or short i wanted the garment. i strated to cut from the front and decided i wanted it longer at the back than the front. once i had cut it into shape i started to hem the bottom of my skirt all the way round then sewed it. once i had hemed it i cut the access fabric of the hem then turned the hem over and sewed over the hem to neaten it up instead of using an overlocker.
Explore materials: final skirt
I chose to reuse the chiffon but this time i found another type of chiffon this one was alot heavier so it was easier to handle, i started by draping then sewing on the machine. i resued the style of my second skirt as i felt it worked the best so i tryed to make it better.
How well did it work as garment?
I feel it worked quite well as a garment it fitted well to my model.
Is it fashion if so why? if not why not?
I think it is fashion i started by researching online highstreet stores and this style seemed to be quite popular so i think my garment is fashion.
What opening did you use?
I used a zip as the back of my garment, i put it in using a zip foot it wasnt the best zip i had put in but i do feel i am improving..
What there any problems?
i feel the only problem was that i chose to use chiffon again, but this time i used a heavyer weight chiffon. i do feel like i had improved with this fabric. i also had another problem as i didnt use a pattern i do not know what size it is.
What could you do to improve next time?
Next time i could use a pattern block. i would also use an invisible zip as i didnt but i think one that you cant see would have fitted in better with the style.
