Explore materials: Skirt 3

 Skirt 3
How well did it work as a garment?
I dont think it worked at all!, it was horrible material that ripped so easily and i struggled trying to make a wearable garment.
Is it fashion? if so why? if not why not?
No it is not fashion, i tryed to make a wearable skirt but everytime it went through the machine it would get stuck and rip. it isnt wearable so i wouldnt call it fashion.
What opening did you use?
I was planning on using buttons but my machine would not take the material and kept ripping it so in the end i ended up cutting slits into the fabric and tieing it together with ribbon.
What were the problems?

Well there was tons of problems, as it was clear i couldnt see what i was cutting and the only way i could mark it was with a felt pen, when pinning it together the fabric itself naturally stuck together and was hard to pull it apart, then when i was attempting to sew it together on the machine it would not go through unless it had a not sticky fabric on top so i ended up sewing ribbon up the seems so 1. it was easier to sew 2. you could see which seams were what. when trying to hem it it was a nightmare i tryed putting masking tape on the foot of my machine but it didnt work i ended up sellotaping the plastic and sewing on top of that as it went through the machine easier.
What could you improve next time?
Next time i think i will just not use a fabric like that, or maybe staple it together instead of using a machine.
