Explore materials: Dress 3

Dress 3
How well did it work as a garment?
I felt it worked quite well as a garment it was wearable and i think would be quite nice as a summer dress.
Is it fashion? if so why? if not why not?
i think it is fashion, i looked in a few magazines for inspiration for a dress shape and the draping look came up quite alot mainly with maxi dresses so i wanted to create something that is quite high street.
What opening did you use?
I didnt use an opening as i thought because it was stretch fabric i woiuld be easy to get in and out with just by stepping into it or over the head. if i was to add an opening i think i would use clips down the back to clip the top half togther and step in to the dress.
Was there any problems?
i think the only problem that i found was that because the jersey was so stretchy and thin it kept getting stretched through my sewing machine and moving in different directions when im trying to sew straight. also as it curled at the edges it was hard to hem as the fabric would just curl so i couldnt pin it but i found a way around it as i quite liked it so i left the edges raw.
What could you do to improve next time?
i think next time i would dye the jersy to make ut look a bit more interesting i did try to bleach a little bit but nothing really happened so maybe a different colour. also next time i think i would use another clour to make it stand out a bit more and also add and opening.
